Brown and Acting Public Works Commissioner Steven Stepniak today announced that effective tomorrow, Tuesday November 20th, City of Buffalo DPW crews will begin picking up bagged leaves the day following city property owners’ regularly scheduled garbage collection. In order to facilitate comprehensive and efficient collection of leaves, City property owners are urged to bag leaves from their property and place the bags for collection at the curb – not in the street. “Every year, our City crews work very diligently to remove bagged leaves as quickly as property owners place them along their curb,” said Mayor Brown. “I urge all City property owners not to place their leaves unbagged and in the street. This causes crews greater difficulty in collecting leaves and creates greater complications if we experience an early snowfall.” All bags must be free of debris and all other household waste. City crews will pick up bagged leaves through Nov. 30, 2007. If anyone has any questions or needs further information, please call 851-6568. |
