Buildings Division

GOALS:

To provide efficient operations and maintenance, as well as plan and design services in approximately 200 City owned public buildings.

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES:

Directly supervises approximately 89 regular and 35 seasonal employees consisting of Architectural, Clerical, Craft, Professional Engineers, Stationary Engineers, and Labor Class personnel.

Prepares the annual Division of Buildings O & M and Capital Projects budgets.

Maintains records of O & M and Capital Projects budgets.

Prepares reallocation or transfer of funds requests.

Prepares informal as well as formal bid specifications and resultant contract documents, to be forwarded to Accounting, Audit, or Law Department.

Request, receives and forwards for approval all insurance or renewals of insurance as required.

Orders, stocks, and distributes building, electrical, HVAC office, and plumbing supplies.

Records and requests all petty cash disbursements.

Approves all contract encumbrances, requisitions for materials and supplies, service orders, purchase orders, and vouchers for payment.
